DC Metering Solutions for EV Charging Stations

To meet different installation requirements in DC EV charging applications, Acrel provides two practical metering solutions: split-type and integrated solutions.

 

Split-Type DC Metering Solution

 

The split-type solution consists of a main meter and an external shunt, which are installed separately. The shunt is mounted in the main DC circuit to measure current, while the meter collects voltage, current, power, and energy data through signal wiring.

 

This solution is especially suitable for high-current DC charging applications, where flexible installation and better thermal performance are required.

 

Main advantages:

  • Wide current range, suitable for 200A to 1500A
  • Flexible installation of meter and shunt
  • Better heat dissipation with independent shunt
  • Strong modularity for different current ratings

 

Recommended model:
DJSF1352-RN, which supports dual DC input, adjustable voltage and current, ±12V output for Hall sensor power supply, fast response, and line loss measurement. It is widely used in EV charging stations, energy storage systems, telecom base stations, and DC distribution systems.

 

 

Integrated DC Metering Solution

 

As shown in the second image, the integrated solution combines the meter and shunt into one compact unit, reducing wiring complexity and saving installation space. This design is ideal for charging systems that require a more compact structure and easier field installation.

 

Compared with the split-type solution, the integrated design offers better assembly consistency and simpler maintenance.
